Getting Started
This guide walks you through adding your first song and creating a playlist. If you're new to Stage Traxx, you may want to review the Interface Overview first.
Upgrading from Stage Traxx 3?
You can migrate your existing library by creating a backup in Stage Traxx 3 and restoring it in Stage Traxx 4. See Migrating from Stage Traxx 3 for details.
Adding Your First Song
The quickest way to add a song is using batch import:
- Tap Songs in the infobar to open the song list
- Tap the button in the bottom toolbar to open the New Song dialog
- Tap the import button in the navigation bar
- Select From Audio Files or From Music Library
- Select one or more songs or audio files
- Tap Import or Open
Stage Traxx creates a song for each file and extracts metadata like title, artist, and BPM from ID3 tags when available.
Creating a Song Manually
To add a song with more control over its details:
- Tap Songs in the infobar to open the song list
- Tap the button in the bottom toolbar
- Enter a title and any other metadata you'd like

Tap a song to load it into the player. The song title and waveform appear in the main view. Tap the play button or double-tap a song to start playback immediately.
Creating a Playlist
Playlists let you organize songs into setlists for your performances:

- Tap the button in the bottom toolbar
- Enter a name for your playlist
- Tap Save
Now add songs to your playlist:
- Tap your new playlist to open it
