Interface Overview

This page describes the main areas of the Stage Traxx interface. The app uses a sidebar-based navigation layout optimized for both iPad and Mac.

Note

Some interface elements described here are disabled on iPhones due to the smaller display size.

Main Layout

Infobar

The infobar at the top of the screen contains up to three buttons to toggle the sidebar and switch between the Created with Sketch. song list, playlists, and Created with Sketch. queue. A red badge on the queue button shows how many songs are queued up for playback. On the right side, you'll find a More Options menu. The center title area displays timers, the current song title, a play progress bar, the song play mode indicator, and status information.

Title Area

Title Area

The title area displays key information about the current song and playback state. On the left, you'll find a configurable timer (see Clock Mode). The top center shows status information including CPU load, iCloud sync status, network connection status, global pitch info, and song-specific alerts like missing files.

The song title appears in the middle, optionally followed by the next scheduled song title (see Show Next Song Title). To the right of the title, you'll see the playback time — tap it to toggle between elapsed and remaining time. The song playback mode appears on the far right; tap it to switch between the configured Song End Behavior, autoplay, and repeat. Autoplay and repeat are not configurable but can be toggled for the current song — autoplay automatically continues with the next song when the current one ends, and repeat loops the current song from the beginning.

The bottom border can display a progress bar with colored bars depicting audio regions. You can disable this via Show Progress Bar. Drag anywhere on the title area to seek within the song.

Tip

You can disable seeking during playback by turning off Allow Seek during Playback.

More Options Menu

More Options Menu

The more options menu provides access to additional features:

Tip

Throughout the app, a button gives access to a context-dependent more options menu.

The sidebar provides navigation between your content:

You can resize the sidebar by long pressing on the drag handle until it changes color, then dragging to your preferred width.

Tip

The sidebar can be automatically hidden during playback by enabling Hide Sidebar in Playback.

Tip

You can also toggle the sidebar by double-tapping the content area if Double Tap Lyrics is set to "Toggle Sidebar".

Content Area

The main content area displays the current song. This includes text-based lyrics or PDF sheets. An optional top panel can show audio region controls or a mini waveform, and an optional bottom panel can display the mixer.

Double-tap the content area to perform a configurable action such as opening full-screen lyrics or toggling the sidebar. See Double Tap Lyrics to configure this behavior.

Content Area Buttons

The right side of the content area contains buttons for switching content types, editing, scrolling, and zooming. The available buttons depend on the current content and settings.

Toggle PDF and Text Lyrics

Toggle PDF and Text Button

Switches between PDF and text-based lyrics. This button only appears when a song has both content types. Stage Traxx remembers your preferred content type for each song.

Edit PDF

Edit PDF Button

Opens the annotation editor to add markings to the current PDF. This button only appears when displaying a PDF document.

Autoscroll Speed

Autoscroll Speed Buttons

Increases or decreases the scroll tempo for constant-speed scrolling. These buttons only appear when autoscroll is enabled and no timecodes are present. See Constant Speed Scrolling for more details.

Enable Autoscroll

Autoscroll Enable

Re-enables automatic scrolling after it has been disabled. If Manual Scrolling Override is enabled and you manually change the scroll position, automatic scrolling is temporarily disabled. Tap this button to resume autoscrolling.

Zoom and Text Size

Zoom and Text Size Buttons

Changes the font size of text-based lyrics or zooms in and out of a PDF. You can also use the pinch gesture or Ctrl+Mouse Wheel on Mac.

Playbar

The playbar at the bottom of the screen provides playback controls. You have play/pause controls, up to 10 fully configurable controls, a song details button to edit the current song, and a mixer button to open the mixer.

Note

The play/pause button turns orange during a fade in, fade out, or crossfade. Tapping it during a fade will stop playback immediately.
