Assignable Controls

Add custom buttons and knobs to the playbar at the bottom of the screen for quick access to frequently used actions.

Note

Assignable controls are not synced to iCloud, so each device can have its own layout — a Mac with a large playbar and an iPhone next to it don't have to share one. They are stored in backups as device-specific settings — when restoring, you choose whether to take them over or keep the layout on this device.

You can add up to 10 controls. Controls are displayed in a list and can be reordered by dragging. Tap a control to edit it, or tap Add Control to create a new one.

Edit Control

Control Type

Choose the kind of control to add:

  • Button: Triggers an action when tapped.
  • Knob: Adjusts a continuous value by dragging a knob.
  • Slider: Adjusts a continuous value by sliding horizontally. Same capabilities as a knob — pick whichever gesture you find easier to hit accurately on stage.
  • Spacer: Adds empty space between controls.

Label

A custom label for the control, up to 12 characters.

Color

The color used to display the control. Not available for spacers.

Behavior

Only available for buttons. Determines how a button reacts to a tap:

  • Single: Fires one action every time the button is tapped.
  • Toggle: The button latches. Each tap alternates between two actions — the Action fires when switching on, the Disable Action when switching off. The button shows its current on/off state.

Example

Set the Action to a MIDI action that mutes your in-ear mix and the Disable Action to one that unmutes it. A single button then toggles the mix, and its highlight tells you which state you're in.

Action

Select what the control does. Knobs and sliders can control Song or Master volume. Buttons can trigger any remote action command that Stage Traxx supports. Not available for spacers.

Disable Action

Only available for buttons with Toggle behavior. The action that fires when the button is switched off.

Delete Control

Removes the control. Only available when editing an existing control.

Spacer

A spacer adds an empty gap between controls in the assignable controls area, letting you group related controls or create visual separation. If a label is set, it is displayed in the spacer area.
